A family painting company, 31 years in.

Val Arruda & Son is a father-and-son company that has painted, plastered and repaired homes and businesses across Rhode Island and southeastern Massachusetts for more than three decades.

Two names on the van.

Val Arruda started painting houses in southeastern Massachusetts more than 31 years ago. His son works alongside him today, and the company still carries both names.

Over those years the work grew from paint into the trades around it: plaster, sheetrock, spray foam insulation, waterproofing and washing. That matters on a real job, where a water stain is rarely just a paint problem and a cracked ceiling needs more than a roller.

Today we work on single rooms and whole houses, storefronts and office suites, new construction and older homes with plaster walls.

How we work.

A paint job is mostly the work you never see once it's finished. That's where we spend the time.

Seven trades, one companyPainting, plaster, sheetrock, spray foam, waterproofing and washing, so nothing falls between contractors.
Protect firstFloors are papered, furniture is covered and edges are taped before a can is opened.
Prep is the jobScraping, patching, sanding and priming take longer than the finish coat, and they decide how long it lasts.
Reachable 24/7Call when something happens, not when the office opens.
